Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of training is provided?
On-site technical and production training is provided at no cost except for travel and expenses.
What kind of technical support do you offer?
Tech Support is available 24 x 7 at 604/862-4134. Most support calls have to do with a lack of familiarity with the system. A few minutes on the phone is usually all it takes.
What kind of special equipment is required?
Most mobile units and control rooms have the necessary equipment - frame synchronizers and equalizing DAs (Distribution Amplifiers). It is recommended that both the key and fill signals be processed through equalizing DAs before they go into frame synchronizers unless your frame synchronizers already have that ability. This will compensate for any line loss in chroma and level, and will eliminate any delay discrepancies.
How long does it take to set the machine up?
The machine itself can be set up and working in about 15 minutes. Once the video lines are in and working, it usually takes another 20 minutes of dedicated time to phase and make final adjustments.
How difficult is it to program the FingerWorks?
It's not difficult at all. Most people become very familiar with the procedure within a half hour. The prompts are simple and easy to follow.
Do most analysts use all 10 tools?
Some users will start with 3 or 4 basic tools until they become proficient and then add to the full complement of 10 tools. Others will start with 10 tools immediately and will incorporate 2 or 3 sets of tools. It's very easy to switch between one set of tools and another and takes just a few seconds. Darren Eliot of Atlanta Thrashers/Turner Sports and Kelly Hrudey of Hockey Night in Canada use up to 4 sets of tools, which they have programmed themselves.
Any problems with travelling the unit?
None. Each unit has a custom built shipping case. It also has two hard drives and is set up so that if the primary drive fails it will boot into the secondary or backup drive.
